The following image gallery is a collection of various asylums and institutions across America that don't have their own gallery on the website. Since the 1970s most of these facilities have closed, and many have been since destroyed. The time of the asylums will live on only in memory, infamy, and photographs. For more on the history of American asylums, check out the new Abandoned America podcast here or listen to the first episode on asylums below.
