In the silence of the hallways in the Henryton's main building, blue paint crackles like electricity around the door frames and stairs. The lack of context for such places, the stubborn muteness of the architecture, and the fragments of half-heard secrets strewn through the rooms are some of my favorite things about places like this. They force you to conjure up your own images of what life there was like; no wonder so many people claim to see ghosts in old buildings.
